Connecting NVR Output To House CATV?

Is there an easy and cost-effective way to take the HDMI or VGA output of an NVR and have it tie into the CATV distribution system throughout the home?

The end result would be to have the ability to watch TV and change to a certain channel and see the cameras. But I suspect with Comcast/Xfinity and cable boxes, this is not going to work. I think it may be cheaper and easier to run HHDMI orwireless HDMI to a separate input and just change ithe nput to see cameras?
